The katana is a weapon of marvelous construction with it?s lightweight agile design coupled with a resilient sharp blade. You'll immediately notice quality when you grip the tightly wrapped ito (braid) that is wrapped around the same (ray skin) tsuba (handle). The matching fuchi (collar) and kashira (buttcap) are both coated with an antique finish giving the Handmade Reverse Katana a regal and professional appearance. The carbon steel blade has been polished to a mirror finished and forged with different degrees of steel hardness forming a visible hamon (temper line). Unlike a conventional katana the reverse blade has an edge on the inside curve of the blade, usually seen in many fictional movies. Housing the katana is a black high gloss saya (scabbard) adorned with a thick black sageo (cord). Measuring 41 inches overall closed and 39 1/2 inches overall open, equipped with a 27 1/2 inch blade length. Also included is a horizontal display stand.
