Some of the earlier emperors used Samurai to dominate and rule the government, quelling rebellions with force. This sword has been constructed from 1065 carbon steel and polished to a high finish displaying authentic temper lines. The tsuba has been designed with kanji cutout and the tsuka is accented with antiqued pommel and collar. Real same (ray skin) lines the black cord wrapped handle measuring 10 1/2 inches long. The most amazing feature of the katana is the decorated saya (scabbard) adorned with beautiful designs and wrapped with thick sageo. Measures 41 inches overall closed, 39 1/2 inches open with a 29 inch blade, cleaning kit and sword bag included.
